Explosive Performance
Thursday, May 21, 2009

Last week, my brother said he needed my help so I said yea sure.  Little did I know what I would be getting myself into the next day.  My brother is a Training Director for Explosive Performance(EP) at the Tysons Sport & Health.   Explosive Performance provides sport specific training to athletes of various ages.   The training involves increasing the agility, speed, and explosiveness of the athletes.  So if you need some extra training to get to the next level, you should definitely go see these guys.  Not only do they know what they are talking about but are also really nice guys.

Anyways, they are in the process of creating a new website and needed some head shots of the EP trainers for the site.   I’ve never done head shots before so it was definitely a new experience.   I made it through the 14 trainers and we did a casual group shot at the end of their training session.

Off camera Lights with the STi
Monday, April 27, 2009

The other weekend I wanted to experiment with some off camera lighting. So with no other subjects around, I took my brother and his ride out to do some trials.   It was fun for me trying to figure it all out and he loved the fact he got more pictures of his car.  We went out searching for a cool location and set up shop. Here are some of the pictures:

STi Modified

My brother needed another photo op with his car this past weekend. He recently installed the Rota G-force Gun Metallic rims to his car so updated pictures were necessary. I was more than happy to help since I can practice product shots.

Lights

Yesterday I got a haircut and decided to take a self portrait. I experimented with some lights and ended up with this.   I’ll have to continue experimenting with the lights, though it’s difficult it’s also fun.

Subaru STI ’08

The other night was perfect for a photo session of my brother’s car.  The ground was wet from the first batch of snow fall that hit the area which provided a nice reflection of the parking lot lights.  He purchased the car back in November and has been slowly making changes to it, like adding springs, putting in a new exhaust, etc.  I don’t really understand it all but whatever makes him happy, he has his hobby and I have mine.

Hong Kong style||Portraits
Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Couple weekends ago, I had a portrait session out in Georgetown. The client was actually a friend, Hong, who said that she didn’t have any pictures that didn’t consist of her playing football or at a club. This short session temporarily solved that problem. We had a lot of fun during the session after we got past the uncomfortable stage at the beginning. No one ever really knows how awkward is it to be in front of the camera until they become the main subject. After a few jokes and some small chit chat, it was smooth sailing and the inner model came out.

Jean’s Girls||Portraits
Sunday, February 1, 2009

Last weekend I had a portrait session with Jean and her girls out in Washington D.C. Good heavens was it blustery. I couldn’t feel my fingers and the girls were trying keep their hair out of their faces. Though it was cold, it ended up being a fun session because they were such great sports. Here are a few pictures:
