A couple of weeks ago, I helped out Jennifer Kim with her engagement session of Jack and Hollie. We met up with them at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C and had a fairly easy session because it wasn’t crowded. Now for some pictures from the session.  The first picture was a test shot by Jennifer and I love it.  Since I’m always behind the camera, I have no pictures of myself so I thought this was a fun one of me. Thanks Jennifer!

Jee and Hoy||Engagement
Thursday, June 18, 2009

This past weekend I got to photograph some engagement pictures for some friends. Meet Jee and Hoy. I first met Jee back in 2004 for some Turkey Bowl football and have been playing football together ever since. Oddly enough, we also share the same birthday as well as enjoy photography with canon lenses. Their wedding is coming up in 2.5 months and they needed some vibrant engagement pictures. I offered my services and the weather also cooperated by giving us sun and pretty blue skies, which has been quite rare these days.  So here are some pictures from the session.  Congrats to Jee and Hoy…. we’ll be seeing you two standing at the altar in a couple of months.

Please no rain…||Engagement
Monday, May 11, 2009

Last Friday, I assisted Jennifer Kim at her engagement session out in Georgetown.  Since it had been raining all week, we were worried about the rain during the session but with good fortune there was no rain.  Sadly there was no sun either.  We made the best of it and had fun taking Matt and Justine around the streets of Georgetown.  Congratulations to Matt and Justine…you’re only 2 weeks away from the big day!

Debbie and Jason are high school sweethearts and also some dear old friends.   I had a great time at this engagement session around the various parts of Washington D.C this past weekend.  Granted it was filled with the Cherry Blossom tourists and traffic but we made the best of it by avoiding those crowds.  We ended up at the National Cathedral, Georgetown University, and on the streets of Georgetown.  It was great to see that even after 10 years, Debbie and Jason still have that spark they had back in high school. Congratulations Debbie and Jason!

2941||Engagement
Thursday, March 19, 2009

I got the opportunity to photograph Thai and Dani’s engagement session.  The session took place at one of their favorite restaurants, 2941, in Falls Church, Virginia.  They like to come here for special occasions and holidays so it was only fitting to have their session there.  Dani had some crazy heels on so I made sure I caught those in a picture or 2.  I also photographed their wedding ceremonies this past weekend and will post those up shortly. Congrats to Thai and Dani!

Linn and Annie
Thursday, November 13, 2008

I had the privilege of photographing Linn and Annie’s engagement session. I’ve known Annie for about 10 years and was thrilled at the opportunity to photograph her and Linn. For people who usually love to take pictures, they were both very timid about being the main subjects but eventually loosened up as the time went on. We went around Baltimore to various locations and took some great pictures of them. Congratulations to Linn and Annie! I’m looking forward to your Hawaiian wedding next year.

Learning is Awesome
Thursday, October 9, 2008

Hyon Smith Photography held a workshop and it was another great learning experience. Day 1 consisted of an engagement session out in Georgetown. Robert and Alison were our awesome models for the session. They did a great job putting smiles on their faces as we photographed them in different poses. Day 2 consisted of a guest speaker, Douglas Sonders, a celebrity photographer. He showed us the various lighting techniques he uses to photograph his subjects. The 2 days were great! Here are some pictures from the engagement session.

Here are some pictures from Jackie and Ly’s engagement session in Charlottesville. It was nice for all of us to visit our alma mater again even if it was only for a few hours. We wanted to take more photos around grounds but lack of time and light prevented us from doing so. In the short time, we got to wander around the downtown mall, the corner, and the Lawn.
